Scott is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at CSUCI. He specializes in scientific computing: using computers to solve scientific challenges of the 21st century. Scientific computing is inherently multidisciplinary, situated at the intersection of computer science, mathematics, and the natural sciences. In his research, Scott performs supercomputer simulations of physical processes, analyzes large experimental datasets, and designs electronic hardware for the scientific study of laser-generated particle beams and laser-laboratory astrophysics. Scott is committed to improving the culture of STEM to be welcoming for people of all backgrounds.
